Praxis began work with the Alcan aluminum smelter in Kitimat in the 1990s, and have continued to work with the facility since its purchase and refurbishment by Rio Tinto. Praxis has written and developed dozens of HSE, operations and orientation related eLearning courses for the site.

Synopsis
Wrote and produced site safety inductions for the Rio Tinto BC Works aluminum smelter.
The Project
Rio Tinto contacted Praxis to script and create a series of site orientation courses, each tailored for a different audience or area of the site. The work involved collecting existing orientation content and writing new training to standardize messaging across all the different versions of the content.
The Result
Praxis wrote and produced 5 separate Orientations, including the creation of a 3D model for the Kitimat plant. The courses were written in conjunction with Rio Tinto SMEs, and then illustrated and published in an eLearning format. Additional work included the customization and deployment of a Learning Management System to enable the delivery of training to visitors coming on site.
