Synopsis
Praxis was tasked by Cenovus to develop a number of new employee and contractor induction eLearning courses for different sites and facilities.
The Project
Praxis has worked with Husky and Cenovus for decades developing all manner of equipment, process, and health safety and environment training and eLearning. Many sites and facilities used legacy site orientations delivered as videos in a classroom setting. Praxis was tasked with replacing these aging orientations with new eLearning courses which could be delivered to new hires, contractors and visitors, using any device including smartphones, tablets or computers.
The Result
Praxis developed 3D models for the individual facilities and offices, which were then animated to provide critical site familiarization training. The new courses also capitalized on AI-generated Text-to-Speech narration, which makes the future updating and editing of the content far easier than using a traditional voice over artist. The 3D models and narration were combined with a wide variety of illustrative assets including photos, recordings of the different evacuation alarms, symbols, icons and other graphics composed by Praxis. The end result being visually engaging and highly polished site orientations, which are key to making the right impression for new people coming onsite.
