Synopsis
Produced process unit eLearning for original Geismar site, and the later G3 expansion project.
The Project
Methanex commissioned Praxis to produce process unit training for their original Geismar Louisiana plant. The Geismar site was built around two methanol process units relocated from Chile. A decade later when Methanex began construction of a new process unit at the site, called the Geismar 3 expansion project, they approached Praxis again to produce a series of eLearning modules covering the entire facility both old and new. Using an existing 3D engineering model, as well as process control narratives and P&IDs, Praxis wrote the training for the existing and new plants. The 3D model was converted and optimized to facilitate the illustration of the eLearning content.
The Result
Praxis completed a new combined eLearning module covering all three methanol process units. The content is entirely illustrated with detailed 3D animations of the process units. The eLearning module was published using Articulate Storyline and Text-to-Speech (TTS) narration in order to facilitate Methanex applying updates and changes to the content internally in the future.
